Santa flys in with sack of new officers
Wednesday, December 17th, 2008Around 2 pm the meeting was announced. We gathered around the outdoor grill with beer in hand.
Present were:Scott Gee, Charlie Crocker, Neil Morriss, Greg Christopher, Gene Dursin, Bill Morris, Moku Busch,Gary Ruhm, Laurel Swan, Roger Simmons, Sam Blankenship. Guests were Ellen Crocker and John of Girdwood.
The meeting was informal, ideas free flowing. The two main items of importance were the election of new club officers, and the clearing of our new landing zone. Bill and Charlie gave an update on the LZ. The lease has been signed and the land clearing has been arranged. The only problem seems to be the right-away access to the property.
Now came time to elect new officers. There were three nominations for President: Charlie, Greg and Gene. Since we lacked paper for ballots, Charlie suggested that the three nominees stand on the lawn and members could vote by standing behind their selection. This idea was adopted and Greg and Gene stood behind Charlie, who said,”I can see that this isn’t going to work!” Greg then made the mistake of finding paper and tearing it into ballots. Obviously anyone with that much incentive was voted in as President, Charlie was selected Vice-President, and Gene was chosen Secretary. Also, selected by unanimous consent and for their excellent work during the past year were: Scott Gee- Safety Officer, and Neil Morriss-Treasurer,
We want to thank everyone who attended and brought so many delicious items. Gary did an excellent job with the grill.(Moku…you now have competition!)
Yours Humble Secretary,
Gene ‘iokane’ Dursin
