General Club Meeting Dec, 9 2006

Minutes from December 9th, 2006:
Meeting was held at Kealekekua at 10:00 am. Elections were the first order of business. The results are as follows:
President-Charlie Crocker (2nd term)
Vice President-Eric Weinert (the PR guy)
Treasurer-Neil Morris (2nd term)
Secretary-Yeti Deffebach (1.5 term)
Safety Officer-Gene Dursin
Other things we discussed was a possible fly-in to include our fellow clubs from Maui and Oahu. We are considering, as a site for the annual gathering, Mauna Kea for the location and are investigating all the necessary hoops we need to jump through and and people to talk to in order to make that happen. We all agreed that loosely joining all groups might coalesce all of us into a larger group. The strength in numbers thing! We are proceeding with discussions of opening up other sites but that is a slow process. We are now trying to update our membership status online (thanks James) and will give you any updated info as it comes to fruition. In an email discussion with Mike Robinson of the DHHL, I will arrange another spray/fly date at Pu’u Loa after the new year. I’ll let you’all know when.
After the meeting was ended we went to launch to fly. It was a sledder kinda day and a lot of us flew but with little or no lift. As usual, The “K”, regardless, is the most beautiful launch on our “Big Island”.
All pilots please send in your dues and new waivers and get listed on line after the 1st of January. Anybody wanting to fly Pu’u Loa must email or fax waivers to Yeti at yeti@IslandPPG.com or yeti@ThermalUp.com or fax me at 968-6619. Call me before you fax though. My cell is 987-0773 when I’m in the air, which is most of the time!
Mele kalikimaka o hauoli makahiki hou, aloha to all our wonderful members/pilots.
